This tool marks words and phrases that are not in the Minimal English vocabulary.
Paste your text in the box below and click the "CheckVocabulary" button.
Allowed words and phrases are listed in the Vocabulary box below. They are identified with curly braces { } around each word or phrase. For phrases containing multiple words, underscore characters _ are used between each word. Here are some examples:
{bad} {feel} {know_about} {something} {this} {you}
When you click the "CheckVocabulary" button, words or phrases in your text that are not in the vocabulary will be marked with a red * asterisk.
Phrases containing multiple words must match each word in the given order within a sentence. So {know_about} will match the words "know" and "about" in this sentence:
You know something about this.
But "about" is not matched in this sentence:
You feel bad *about this.
You can also include definitions of new vocabulary words and phrases in your own text:
{a_long_time_ago} = a long time before now.
